Tonight was the first district game of the 2011 season. It was a resounding 12-5 victory! It is so much fun to watch Perry coach. I know his signals, but trying to get in his head and figure out why he makes a decision during a game keeps me on my toes. There's never a dull moment at a Burleson softball game. And now, as I wait for him to get home, I am filled with joy at the thought of another season of breaking down games, scouting, and, hopefully, a very deep playoff run. It is a bonding time for us as well as a time to truly appreciate the common ground that first drew us to each other.
If you're ever at a Lady Elk softball game, I'll be the one in the stands gazing at the good looking man in the coach's box giving signals. Come sit by me and I'll tell you what's about to happen and then we'll yell together, "Elks have Antlers!"
