Moving Laverne

We moved Laverne to Shreveport this weekend. It was a very quick 24 hours. I took a few pics to help tell the story.... I really loved this house. I can't believe someone else will be living in it. Lots of hard work went into making it a wonderful place to come home.

This is not a very good picture, but, alas, I'm trying to look happy.

This is Perry with the moving guy. We hired them to load the truck in B'town and we unloaded it ourselves in Shreveport. We've been rethinking that decision all day!

Laverne pitching in to help....She looks awesome for 83!

This may be my favorite picture. Laverne is yelling instructions to Perry. It is truly an example of art imitating life.

Perry planted this rose bush in the front yard last May. We got up Saturday morning and were thrilled to see such a beautiful bloom.

"Why yes Leighanne, my house is protected by Angels."

This stone is in my front flower bed. It's one of my favorite movie quotes and something I usually tell myself on a daily basis.

Perry's pride and joy

Bryce looking relaxed and nice.....

Bryce ready to put someone on their back!!!!

Perry's grandson, Bryce, started football this year. At 7 (almost 8) years old, he's the biggest boy on the field and definitely the toughest. We got to go in and watch. Trailing 7 to 6 for most of the game, Bryce had the block late in the 4th quarter that sprung the running back for the game winning touchdown. This was a special moment for more than the obvious reason. Bryce plays left guard which is also the position Perry's brother, Robert, was an all-pro at in the NFL. When Bryce made the crucial block, Perry said he got goose bumps. Did I say that Bryce also looks remarkably like Robert. We went to eat after the game at CiCi's (Bryce's choice). When we payed and looked around, the boy was already in line filling up his plate. He is a BIG eater. He also figured out that PawPaw Perry was a bottomless pit of money for the arcade games. We are both looking forward to enjoying all of his future endeavors.
