Sad Times

We have packed up most of the house and I am incredibly sad. I knew that we would eventually sell the house and build the new one at the lake, but reality sometimes hits you hard. I love Burleson and can't believe that soon I won't have a home here.

Only a few more weeks

In honor of the upcoming election, I wanted to channel President Reagan with the hope that his memory will remind people what it was like with Jimmy Carter and what happens when democrats are allowed to live in the White House. Friends, we don't need a socialist running the country who wants to spread the wealth. We work too hard for a living to have someone come and take more so they can give it to those who (not all, but many) don't work at all. Look back at this country's history and remember that throwing money at a problem has never worked...prime example is Johnson's "Great Society." Most importantly, vote. It's what we're about and it's what we should do.

Update on Milton

Milton has been taking fluids and anitbiotics through an IV for the last two days. He finally got the IV out on Thursday and seems to be feeling much better. I still have to give him 3 antibiotics and a pepcid for his stomach, but he's on his way to recovery. He started barking again yesterday! I can't say enough about the vet here. The entire office has been wonderful and through all of this, Milton continues to look forward to day care. It's been a rough week, but he's completely worth it.

Milton's Battle

This has already been a hectic week for our baby, Milton. He started feeling bad on Sunday, so we took him to the Emergency room Sunday afternoon. They wouldn't let me go back with him, and when I heard him cry, Perry had to sit by me to keep me from storming the examination room. Needless to say, I was not friendly with the vet. He went to day care Monday and appeared to be a little better, but Monday night was rough. We were up most of the night. This morning he had a fever of 105 when Perry took him. He's had an IV of fluids and antibiotics and seems a little better. The vet says it's a bacterial infection. He finally ate tonight when Perry made a bologna sandwich and shared. We were very excited! We really feel like he's on the road to recovery. Please keep our baby in your thoughts and prayers.

Future Leaders

When I saw this picture, I wanted to share it with everyone. My hopes for the future are firmly cemented with these girls. I know someone has plans for them to be engineers, but I see politics in their future. Can twins run on the same ticket?!?!?! They will definitely get my vote.

Sarah vs. Joe

Perry is anti-political so I watched the debate on the computer with headphones. What a FUN 2 hours! I emailed Uttley during the debate. I couldn't help it...the "Say it ain't so Joe" was such a great line. I wonder if she set it up from the beginning when they came out and the microphones picked up their greeting and she asked him if she could call him Joe. It was like she was lying in wait for him to say something dumb so she could spring the line on him. I absolutely think our girl had the better night, even with the somewhat distracting Alaskan accent. I guess anything not "Texan" is distracting for me. She was impressive in that she stuck to what she wanted to say and that she continually called him on his and Obama's "supposed" records. At times she seemed like the calm mother dealing with the typical, young, belligerent child. I'm sure Toni and Pam will disagree, but I was more excited after the debate than I was the day Obama announced Biden as his running mate. What a great day to be a Republican. GO SARAH!!!!!!!!!

America's Got Talent

We just watched Neil E. Boyd win America's Got Talent and I'm crying. I can't wait for his CD. Leighanne laughs at me and my opera, but hearing someone who can sing like that fills your soul.

News from Shreveport

So, the Boot sent me an email telling me to update things. We had the geek squad out today, so we have internet service all the time and don't have to "borrow" it from our neighbors. I heard from Coco today and it sounds like she's ready for Dillyn to make her debut. Remember Coco, good things come to those who wait. Jody sent me a couple of emails from her. I miss my Burleson girls. Sabrina keeps me informed of all the goings on and all the craziness. I am sad to announce that Wednesday frosty's have been discontinued. Apparently, the Boot doesn't think this tradition is worth keeping. Just kidding Julia! Milton is going to daycare. No jokes girls. Sabrina and Leighanne have already given me a hard time. More to come soon!

Perry's Hall of Fame Night

This was a very exciting night for us! Perry was soooooo nervous, but he did great. I love the picture of Perry and his quarterback, Jimmy Carmichael. I bet they could still put up a few touchdowns! The picture of Perry and Bryce makes me laugh. There's nothing in the world like the energy of a 7 year old to loosen things up a bit. Perry had to miss a softball playoff game that night, but I was in the front row getting texts from parents about the game. He would lean over and I would flash him the score. He referred to me as his better half that night, and I'm remind him of it all the time!

Shopping in San Marcos

Jake and his new hat. He was a real trooper and only complained a little, so when he saw it and HAD to have it, how could I say no?
